I have always loved creating things with my hands. My grandmother was my first mentor, teaching me to sew, crochet, knit and needlepoint, and I continue her legacy in quilting. As a new homeowner, I discovered woodworking and took great satisfaction in building furniture for my children, cabinets for the house and small gifts for family and friends.

Fifteen years ago, I decided to try my hand at drawing, and moved to Seattle to study at Gage Academy, immersing myself in drawing, painting and sculpture, each one a compelling path for exploring form, color and light.

Whether working on a portrait, a landscape or a still life, I enjoy experimenting with techniques and materials to highlight the qualities that drew me to the subject.  My hope is that my interpretation will resonate with viewers and draw them in as well.
